Sales shown in the Qualifying Sales data layer may or may not have been used during the reappraisal process. Each real property transfer is reviewed by the Real Property staff to determine true “arms-length” transactions for qualified sales. Other sales (foreclosure, short sales and family sales) are not considered in determining real estate market values. If you have any questions, please contact the Real Property Department at 828-452-6654.
To view Reappraisal Neighborhoods and Qualifying Sales on our maps, please follow these steps:
Once you are on the Maps Online webpage, click the green button that says “Available Map Layers” on the left side of the screen. This will bring up a list of layers you can view on the map and you will see a layer called “Reappraisal Neighborhoods” and a layer called “Qualifying Sales.” Click in the box beside each of the layers to make them visible. You can then click on the tab that says “Legend” under the “Available Map Layers” heading to view the symbols used to represent the features in these layers. Once you have done this, you can search for properties as you normally would and click on the neighborhoods or sales to get information about them.
