Toolbar
Zoom InZoom In

Draw a box around the area where you want to zoom in. Alternatively you can click once and it will zoom in by a standard interval.

Zoom InZoom Out

Click once and it will zoom out by a standard amount. If you draw a box it will zoom out in proportion to the box that you draw. For example a smaller box will result in zoom out a greater distance.

Zoom Inpan

click on the area of the map where you want to move.  Click and drag way from the area.

full extentCounty

Click on the Button and it will zoom to the full extent of the Duplin County.

IdentifyIdentify

Click on a feature on the map.  All features that intersect that point will be identified.  The results will be display in a box to the left of the map.

Zoom PreviousZoom Previous

Clicking on this button will change the map extent to your last map extent. It serves as a back key for the map.

MeasureMeasure

Clicking on this button will bring up the measure toolbar in the top left part of the screen. This toolbar can be moved to whereever you like it.

Measure Toolbar
Point ToolClick on the map to return the coordinate location of the point. The map units for the map is North Carolina State Plane Feet. That is the default units return from the tool.
Line ToolClick on the map and draw a line. Double-click to end the line. Total Length and Segment length of the line that you drew will be showed below the measure toolbar.
Area ToolClick on the map to draw a polygon. Double-click to end the polygon. The Area and the perimeter of the polygon that you drew will show up below the measure toolbar. You can change the units of the results by by using the drop down buttons for area and perimeter.
Select FeatureSelect Feature

Drag a rectangle around the parcel feature or features that you would like to select. Once you have made a selection the selection results tab will show up to the left of the map.

Clear SelectionClear Selection

Clicking this tool will clear any graphics layer from the map. Graphic layers include: selected features, geocode results, selected parcel adjoiners and identified feature selections.

Map Backgrounds
Road MapThis will show a beige background.
Aerial Photo:This type of background shows Aerial Photography background.
None:This will remove the background from the map. This may be helpful when you want to print

Managing layers

A map layer can be turned on and off in over top of any of the map backgrounds.

To Change a map layer:

  • First click on the 'Map Layers' Button on the hyperlink tool bar at the top of the page, just below the 'Navigation and Tools Toolbar'
  • Use the Check boxes beside the layer name to turn on or off the layer.
Searching Parcels

Below are the ways you can search for a parcel...

  • By Owner Name (note: in 'Company name' Search LastName , FirstName.)
  • PIN number
  • Deed Book and Page. 
Finding Adjoining Parcels

There are a couple of ways to find adjoining parcels in this application...

  • You can use the zoom to the parcel, identify it, and use the link on the identify detail results.
  • You can use any of the Parcel Search tools to find the parcel. Click on the link for 'Adjoiners' in the detail results

On the top of the 'Adjoiners' results page, you have two options; 'Print Report' or 'Export to Excel'.

  • Print Report will print a short report of the adjoiners
  • Export to Excel will export a comma-delimited file to a pop up window. You can save the file or open it up in Excel. This will give you all the fields from the parcel table.
